conservationworks uk ltd
is a new kind of heritage conservation consulting business

conservationworks is a multi-capability professional services company working in the heritage conservation sector.

We offer buildings conservation advice, training, projects and PR/Communications services to institutional owners/users- most especially in the education  and licensed leisure and hospitality sectors- to developers and their advisers. We partner with other built environment professionals - architects, surveyors, property agents, planners and builders - without in-house specialist conservation expertise.

Based in and around London for ease of access to key archival, library and specialist research sources and expertise, we nevertheless operate across the country and will consider projects anywhere.

We offer consulting services to owners and users of historic buildings in the following sectors

  • commercialoffices and conference centres
  • investors: developers and new institutional or commercial owners
    •

We exist because our clients are not in the historic buildings business- they're educators or hoteliers or business-people for whom the responsibility of managing their historic estate or heritage asset is at best baffling and at worst a time-consuming distraction from their primary purpose.

What's new about that? Surely all historic buildings consulting firms have the same values? Click on 'About Us' to discover a little more about our philosophy.

Approachable and pragmatic, our trademark is providing practical and realistic solutions to your heritage challenges. We call it 'commonsense conservation'.

Our mission is to ensure an optimum solution, balancing a respect for the past with the needs of the present.

    Why conservationworks?

You might have found your way here as an experienced property management professional needing support or as a 'new user' who's been advised by their local authority to get professional assistance with an application for Listed Building Consent.

You may recently have bought or leased an historic building that needs repair, or alterations to make it suitable for a new purpose.

You may be an institutional owner refining your property portfolio in response to economic pressures- perhaps you need advice on potential new uses for an otherwise redundant building prior to sale or development. You may need a ConservationWorks Options Appraisal.

Whatever the reason, we can assemble a package of complementary professionals appropriate to the project you have in mind.
